Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot Talks Turning Video Games into Movies

Ubisoft is hard at work getting many of its video game property's onto the big screen. This includes Assassins Creed and Splinter Cell starring Micheal Fassbender and Tom Hardy respectively. As well as Micheal Bay producing a Ghost Recon adaption and Watch Dogs being wirtten by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.

Well, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has taken to Ubisofts Blog to talk about how most video game turned movies have failed and what their company needs to do to make sure their movies are the best they possibly can be:
The best way to [make sure a video game movie doesn't fall flat] is to make sure you control what is important in movie creation.  It’s the scenario and the cast and the director. And if you are capable of negotiating with those guys in the movie production studios, making sure they are on the same page as you, that they understand the IP – what is strong, what makes it interesting for the gamers – then you can create something that will match people’s expectations.”
Assassins Creed and Splinter Cell are expected to Hit in 2015/2016
