EDITORIAL: Could Universal Pictures Make a 'Mega Monster Crossover' Movie?!

Oh remember a time when crossover movies was only a dream? Now we have Marvel's The Avengers show up for the Battle of New York or DC's Batman vs Superman smash on the same screen. Also now we are getting announcements that Sony's Sinister Six will show up in The Amazing Spider-Man franchise and FOX's X-Men: Days of Future Past connecting the original cast with the young First Class cast. Shoot we are getting a Movie/TV Crossover for the Terminator Universe....But where does this leave Universal Pictures? Can they follow the fad and make a crossover event?

Long before any of those amazing superhero franchises ever crossed over we had monster crossovers! Yes what do you think Guillermo del Toro watched before creating Pacific Rim? We had 1992's Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah 1973's Godzilla vs Megalon or even 1962's Godzilla vs King Kong!

Yes Godzilla fought against King Kong back then! With Peter Jackson remaking King Kong in 2005 it breathed new life into that classic story. Next year we are getting Garath Edwards reboot of the Godzilla franchise (The Trailer you can watch HERE) and its going to blow minds. Now could we see a reboot with King Kong vs Godzilla? Yes we can! If some don't know Legendary (Studio behind Godzilla) over the summer left  Warner Bros and teamed up with who? Universal Pictures who so happens to own King Kong!

Now with Godzilla, King Kong and Pacific Rim all at Universal could we actually see a huge Monster Mash-Up Movie?! I mean could you imagine with out CGI enhancements how epic that could be? We already got Robots vs Giant Lizards. Why not King Kong vs King Godzilla?! If they follow the current trend of studios it may just be right around the corner.
