What Did Willem Dafoe Think Of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN? (Hint: It Ain't Good)

Willem Dafoe will always be famous in the eyes of many as either Jesus or The Green Goblin. For those of you who don't know, Willem Dafoe played Jesus in The Last Temptation Of Christ released in 1988. That movie 'sort of' put Dafoe on everyone's radar, but his big break came when he was cast in 2002's Spider-Man. Directed by Sam Raimi, who was known for his hilarious horror films such as, Evil Dead & Army Of Darkness. Dafoe joined a very talented cast as Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin. Last year Dafoe was shocked when he heard they were rebooting Spider-Man, yes he didn't know until he was marketing John Carter, and here we are a year after The Amazing Spider-Man was released and has Dafoe seen the movie? I'm not really sure, but what I do know is that he's seen the trailer... That's good right? Well basically, here's what Dafoe said; "I saw a trailer for the first Spider-Man reboot [The Amazing Spider-Man] and I thought, 'This is crazy! It's not shot for shot, but it's the same story," Dafoe revealed to Total Film. "I thought, 'This is a sort of cynical approach to making money!" Dafoe is not the first cast member of Sam Raimi's film series to not be a fan of TASM, the first of course being Harry Osborn actor, James Franco. But stars, Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst were "very pleased." When they saw The Amazing Spider-Man. I've constantly heard that argument of TASM having the same story as Spider-Man. While I do prefer Raimi's original film to Webb's reboot, the two have not much in common. Sure the origin story, but hey! Batman Forever must be the same as Batman Begins by that logic. I might do a full comprehensive review of The Amazing Spider-Man just to settle the score with the haters. If you want to read more about Dafoe's comments, there isn't anymore. But there's a nice picture.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theatres everywhere, April 17th, 2014.
