THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3 Gets Writers; No Sign Of Marc Webb...Yet

No, this is not an early April Fool's Day joke, this is legit The Amazing Spider-Man 2 news. It's been so long, I'm having trouble writing this article! So anyway, earlier today, The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that writers, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinker have signed on for the third instalment of the very successful and soon to be even more successful once the sequel swings into to theatres next summer, the trio shared writing credit on the sequel, so obviously, this is signs of faith in these writers from parent company, Sony. Not surprisingly, director, Marc Webb's name was not present in the article posted by The Hollywood Reporter, but this is very typical for a film of this magnitude, they (Sony) usually wait until the film before it has, you know come out, before they announce anything to grand with director Marc Webb. This may surprise you, but it was only in August of 2012, that we found out that Marc Webb will direct the sequel, that was around a month after the first film came out. So, if you're worried Sony will leave Webb behind, don't be. Orci, Kurtzman and Pinker are expected to receive 'Story by' and 'Screenplay by' credit for the third film. Obviously, Andrew 'Garfinkel' Garfield will return to the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, but apparently Sony were very quiet on the return of Garfield's real life girlfriend, Emma Stone. Not sure what that means, but as fanboys, we'll probably jump to some ridiculous conclusion.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings into theatres everywhere, April 17, 2014. The theatrical trailer can be seen with such November releases as The Hunger Games: Catching Fire & Thor: The Dark World.
