Vin Diesel FINALLY Confims he is 'Groot'

Actor Vin Diesel finally confirms he is in 'Guardians of the Galaxy'

After months of speculation about who Vin Diesel is playing after is Marvel Studios interview. He finally comes out and admits indeed he is playing Groot in Marvel Studios 'Guardians of the Galaxy' ! This comes from the "Conversations with Maria Menouos Show"

:: Groot Talk Starts Around 50 Min Mark ::

He does mention that again he was first asked to come to Marvel it was for a film way way down the line in Phase III and as Vin calls it a "Merging of Brands" whatever that means....

When Marvel showed him the concept art of Groot his response was "Oh My God, this is some of the greatest conceptual art I have ever seen in my life!" He goes onto say.. "They wanted me to play a tree. They said there's something akin to Iron Giant and this tree. And everyone knows I'm a sucker for the Iron Giant"

He goes on..."When Kevin Feige and James Gunn said we want you to voice a character thats historically known for saying only one line. it wasn't to dissimiler to David Twohy saying 'I want you to do Riddick, but I don't want you to interact with anyone in the whole first act'. There is something challenging and  fun about that. So where someone else would have said that 'This is crazy its one line' I thought about it as an insanely fun challenge."

He evn goes on to say that when he brought home a picture of the team lined up he asked his daughter which character was "daddy" and she automatically pointed to Groot. So from that day forward he knew he was Groot.

Guardians of the Galaxy hits next summer!

Vin Diesel then went on to tell the story how he decided to do the character. He took the concept art and showed his daughter the picture asking "which character is daddy?" His daughter immediately pointed to Groot. "From that moment on, I was Groot," Diesel confirmed. Vin also went on to confirm that he will be doing mo-cap work for the character also stating that if Peter Jackson ever gave him the call do to a dragon he would be up for that. "I haven't done the mo-cap, I haven't done the voice-over, yet,"
