'Star Treks' Bones and Scotty Out of 'Star Wars'

Star Trek Alum Karl Urban and Simon Pegg rule themselves out of Star Wars

Ever since the revelation that Star Trek director JJ Abrams was gonna direct Star Wars every alum associated with the rebooted Star Trek franchise is being asked if they will cross over to the galaxy far far away to....

IGN sat down with Karl Urban to discuss Almost Human TV Series and the question came up for him. In which he replied.
"No, absolutely not."
So they asked if he is even a fan of the Star Wars Universe....

"Oh my God, yes," Urban replied immediately. "I grew up watching it. That was the Holy Grail for me. I was a fan of Star Trek growing up. Star Wars was it. Star Wars was like...I remember waiting for two/three years for that next installment, for Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. I've seen every single Star Wars film, even the animated, The Clone Wars, and all that sort of stuff. I just love that universe, but that being said, I have no desire to be part of it. I don't see the worlds of Star Trek and Star Wars joining. I've made a commitment to Star Trek and I'm going to keep it. It wouldn't feel right to me. Being in Star Trek, to suddenly be in Star Wars wouldn't feel right to me."

IGN then decided to tell him that JJ has decided to work on both why can't the actors as well and he replied...

"J.J. is behind the camera. There's a difference when you're putting a face and a personality in front of the camera, and I wouldn't want to do that do an audience. I, as an audience member, wouldn't want to see an actor from Star Trek in Star Wars. I just wouldn't. When I go into a Star Wars movie I want to be completely enveloped. I don't want to be taken out of the picture by going, 'Oh my God, there's Scotty, what's he doing in Star Wars?"

'
Speaking of Scotty.....don't expect him showing up in Star Wars either. During his press tours for The Worlds End The Age asked him if he would show up in Star Wars also...which he said:

"I don't want to be in Star Wars, I think it would spoil it."

He went on talking about casting younger and newer actors for the new Star Wars films...

"When I saw Star Wars when I was a kid, I saw a bunch of people I'd never seen before with some lofty, very respectable older actors in senior roles.

So there you have it both Star Trek alum's Bones and Scotty have officially taken themselves out of the running for the new Star Wars movie. But defiantly expect them there with you opening night.....
